Fashion Photo Shoot at Boo’s Warehouse

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Christina Roelant at Boo's WarehouseBright and early Saturday morning, I meet up with Jim Vigileos, Jerry O’Connor, Christina Roelant and Jazmin Riley for some shooting at Boo’s Warehouse in downtown Phoenix.

I’ve shot at Boo’s Warehouse once before at an Arizona Strobist meetup, though I must say it’s by far better with only a handful of photographers running around the joint.

True to my nature, we have the run of a huge location and I select the smallest corner to shoot in. While assisting Jerry with his first setup, I noticed this two foot space between two huge garage doors begging to be photographed. That little space did not disappoint. To see more photos from that day, check out my Flickr photostream and the other photographers linked above.

Friday Night Shoot Out

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Earlier this week we put out an open casting call for models interested in joining us for our first group shoot at Studio 3. Friday night we setup to do a whole list of head shots. In the studio shooting we had Don Giannatti, Evan Romine, James Jones, Jerry O’Connor, Just Fab and myself.

Watch the Model Mayhem castings for the next night we put on. Until then, here are a few behind the scenes photos from the evening.

Arizona Strobist Meetup at Studio 3

Friday, August 1st, 2008

July has been a little slow for those of us shooting at Studio 3 with all the work we had been doing to clean, upgrade and prepare the studio for four shooters. We’ve been working on a few ideas to create some buzz at the studio. Last night we offered up the studio for a meetup location for the Arizona Strobists group.

We had a good turnout for the first meetup at the studio. No one really was shooting last night, but there was a lot of great conversation and I met a few new photographers I only previously knew of through Flickr.

We’re planning on hosting many more AZ Strobist meetups, we’d like to make it an ongoing event. The meetup will be in the evening on the last Thursday of every month. Looking forward to meeting more of you in August.
